Thrivent is hosting a free educational event to help attendees develop a strategy to maximize Social Security benefits. The one-hour event will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Palmerton Area Library, 402 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.

The event will be presented by Susan E Lovejoy Financial Advisor with Thrivent Financial in Lehighton.

The event will seek to answer common questions about Social Security such as:

• When should I apply for Social Security?

• How can I maximize my benefits?

• How will this affect my spouse?
