Palmerton Municipal Fire Company held a Fire Prevention Open House on Saturday at their station.
Fire Chief Jason Behler said, “There has been a great turn out here today from the public. I am so thrilled that so many came out to see all of our apparatus and demonstrations. We had residents fill out paperwork for free smoke detectors that we will install for free.”
The Palmerton fire company has 54 members, which includes 10 junior firefighters, three female firefighters, support team (fundraising and grant writers), and fire police.
Their newest piece of apparatus is a 2023 KME Pumper.
“We picked blue for the color this time instead of red to go with the school colors and perhaps interest junior firefighters,” Behler said. “We would like to thank A&A Towing and Recovery for supplying us the car for the extrication experience and Steller Construction, Vince’s Cheesesteaks and Parryville Fire Company #2 with their funnel cakes.
“Thanks to all our Department members and their families that made it a success today. We are one big family supporting each other while making sure the fire department provides the best possible emergency services in the area.”
