Carbon County Commissioners
The Carbon County Commissioners acted on the following items during their weekly meeting on Thursday.
• Approved a request by the Emergency Management Agency director to appointment Mark Nalesnik of Nesquehoning and Bernard Sheridan of Summit Hill as county EMA volunteer deputies.
• Approved a software maintenance agreement with ESRI Inc. of Redlands, California for GIS/Mapping. The cost totals $19,406.53 per year.
• Approved an agreement with Sebelin & Sebelin of Lehighton for legal services to the Area Agency on Aging clients from Sept. 1 through Aug. 31, 2027. The legal services include wills, power of attorney, advance directives, consultation and non-will legal services. The cost is not to exceed $4,000 annually.

• Prison board appointment: James A. Silfies of Palmerton, corrections officer, effective Oct. 21.
• Hire: Tammy A. Lacey of Northampton, aging care manager supervisor II, Area Agency on Aging, effective Oct. 21.
• Change of status: Joseph M. Cyburt of Weatherly, from seasonal parking ranger II and par-time parking/meter attendant to seasonal park ranter II, effective Oct. 9.
• Court retirement: Karen L. Rayno of Weatherly, office supervisor I, district judge in Weatherly, effective Oct. 7.
• Court resignations: Tania M. Klingle of Palmerton, secretary I, district Judge in Palmerton, effective Sept. 30; and Deborah Sypeck of Weatherly, domestic relations fiscal coordinator, effective Oct. 7.
• District attorney appointment: Candice M. Chamides of Jim Thorpe, part-time legal secretary, effective Oct. 17.
• Sheriff appointment: Steven Filippone of Albrightsville, deputy sheriff, effective Oct. 21.
