STC updates nursing program

Officials from the Schuylkill Technology Center announced that the Adult Practical Nursing program’s National Council Licensure Examination pass rate for 2023-24 was 100%.

The examination is required by nursing school graduates in order to obtain licensure in Pennsylvania.

STC operates an 18-month day program for adult learners at the North Campus in Frackville that has clinical rotations with Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Lehigh Valley Health Network Schuylkill, Mt. Carmel Nursing and Rehabilitation, Shenandoah Manor, Broad Mountain Nursing Home, Greenwood Center for Nursing, DeVita Dialysis, Silver Pines Rehabilitation, Aveanna Pediatric Home Health, Child Development Inc. and Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29.

“The first nursing class graduated from STC in 1968, and we have continued that proud tradition with over 2,000 graduates to meet the health care needs of the community,” said Kimberly O’Neill, Practical Nursing Program Coordinator.

STC is accepting applications for the next class scheduled for May of 2025. The school has plans in place to launch an adult evening program in 2025. For more information, call 570-874-1412.
