The Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, has cited two Schuylkill County businesses for alleged violations of state liquor laws:
• Dottiewhite LLC, trading as Knepper’s Inn, New Ringgold, was cited three separate times.
Police said on May 18, servants, agents or employees of the business possessed or operated gambling devices or paraphernalia or permitted gambling or lotteries, pool-selling and/or bookmaking on the premises.
During the period of Sept. 5-9, authorities said, the business failed to have an alcohol service person complete the RAMP server/seller training within six months of being hired.
During the period of Aug. 28-Sept. 9, Knepper’s also failed to ensure its board-approved manager completed the RAMP owner/manager training within the past two years, police said.
• The Pine Street Tavern, Tamaqua, was also issued three citations for incidents that took place on Aug. 18.
Police said the business failed to require patrons to vacate the premises used to serve alcoholic beverages not later than one-half hour after the required time.
The business also permitted patrons to have alcoholic beverages from that part of the premises used to serve alcoholic beverages after 2:30 a.m.
The third citation alleges employees sold, furnished alcoholic beverages to patrons on Sunday between 2-9 a.m.
All citations will be brought before an administrative law judge, who has the authority to impose penalties, impose a license suspension or revoke a license based on the severity of the charges, and can also mandate training for the licensees in an effort to educate them on the requirements of being licensees.
