A pedestrian was killed on Route 115 Thursday morning.
At 4:26 a.m. troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police Fern Ridge Station were dispatched to the area of Route 115 / State Road, Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for a report of an unresponsive male lying in the middle of Route 115.
The Monroe County Coroner’s office said a 57-year-old man from Chestnuthill Township, was pronounced deceased at 5:19 a.m. after being struck by a vehicle while walking along Route 115.
His name is not being released due to family notification.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
The Pennsylvania State Police are investigation.
This investigation remains active in conjunction with the Troop N Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Specialist Unit, Troop N Forensic Services Unit and the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.
Updates will be made available as to not jeopardize the integrity of the investigation.
