State police at Frackville

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incidents:

• Jake Love, 29, of Coaldale, is facing charges of possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to an incident at 3:20 p.m. Sept. 29 on West Earley Avenue in Coaldale.

Police said they were summoned there for a report of a Protection From Abuse order violation. Love was found to be in possession of a glass pipe containing suspected drug residue.

Police said Love was inside the residence of a 55-year-old man, was taken into custody without incident and then committed to the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville.

• Police are investigating a retail theft incident that was reported at 10 a.m. Sept. 19 at the Dollar General Store, 700 Barnesville Drive, Ryan Township.

Between 10:10 a.m. and 7:56 p.m. Sept. 19, someone entered the store on two different occasions and “under-rang” items totaling $35.30 at the self-checkout counter, fleeing the scene on Route 54 in a black Jeep Cherokee with a New York registration.

Police said the items included doughnuts, Red Bull energy drink, motor oil and an extension cord.

• A 34-year-old woman from New Philadelphia was cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to an altercation at 5:10 p.m. Oct. 1 at a property on Clay Street in New Philadelphia.

A 16-year-old girl from New Philadelphia reported the woman shoved her and attempted to punch her during a verbal altercation that became physical, police said.

* Police are investigating the theft of a hammock from a yard off Church Street, Schuylkill Township.

The victim, a 57-year-old woman from Tuscarora, told police between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Oct. 4, an unknown actor stole the heavy black steel stand-alone hammock from her yard.

The hammock is worth $400, police said.

* Police are investigating a theft by disposition of funds incident that was reported to them at 2:38 p.m. Oct. 4,

They said the victim, a 47-year-old woman from Mary D, went to the barracks to report she discovered a check she mailed to a nonprofit organization from the post office was intercepted. She said the suspect then made a mobile deposit of the check into his/her personal account.

The check was written out for $100, police said.
