The Lehighton Borough Council last night named James W. Wentz to fill a vacancy that existed on its board since the September resignation of George F. Bruker.

Wentz, 43, who is now serving as coordinator of pupil personnel services for the Lehighton Area School District, was selected from a group of seven aspirants for the post.

A former principal of the Shull-David Elementary School, Wentz was also the home and school visitor for the district’s junior high school. He is also the former head football coach at Lehighton High School.

Wentz will join another former LAHS football coach, Lamont Ebbert, and Richard Semmel, Carlos Teets, Ned Harleman, Wayne Hunsicker, Steve Rakos, Clinton Williams and Clinton Kressley on the council.
