The Carbon County Commissioners acted on the following items during their weekly meeting on Thursday. Commissioner Wayne Nothstein was absent.
• Approved the award of funding from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency for the Carbon County Intermediate Punishment Program. The grant, which totals $89,998, will be used to cover a partial salary of one adult probation officer, as well as electronic monitoring equipment, supplies and treatment services through June 30, 2025.
• Approved and agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Office of Drug Surveillance and Misuse Prevention to obtain coroner/toxicology reports for overdose deaths in Carbon County from July 1 through June 30, 2025 at a cost of $10,000.
• Tabled a banner and gazebo request from the Jim Thorpe Tourism Agency regarding Olde Time Christmas until further discussion takes place.

• Change of status: Zachary G. Gilbert of Lansford, from EMA coordinator trainee to EMA coordinator, Emergency Management Agency, effective Oct. 3.
• Court appointments: Emily A. Recker of Palmerton, domestic relations officer I; and Deborah Sypeck of Weatherly, domestic relations fiscal coordinator, both effective Oct. 7.
• Sheriff appointment: Seth Kalnas of Coaldale, part-time security officer, effective Oct. 7.
