Weissport hosts first crisp air fest

Giving back to the community is what organizers Jennifer and Thomas Ketchledge love, and have been happily doing for years.

Thomas, also being part of the Weissport Borough council for past seven years together started holiday parades for the community, especially for the youth to enjoy.

At the height of the pandemic it was much needed for the well-being of the people, which led to the creation of the new Weissport Crisp Air Fall festival hosted by Weissport Event Committee.

The festival debuted this past weekend.

Jennifer Ketchledge, a member of the Weissport Event Committee, thanked the Weissport Borough Council Monday night for allowing them to use the borough park for the festival.

“It was very profitable for Weissport,” Ketchledge said. “We had a lot of good comments about Weissport; how clean it is, how we’re straightening out the town, how we are doing big things here.”

Jennifer Ketchledge thanked Council President Tom Ketchledge, Councilman Joe Foster, and borough secretary Aimee Shank for their work on the event committee.

The committee is planning to have the Crisp Air Festival again in 2025.

Residents, organizations and vendors came together for the three-day event to celebrate and share all the unique skills and talents from delicious foods, soft serve ice cream and an array of snacks along with arts, crafts, and so much more.

Donald Gruber has a family run business that has long served the surrounding area by bringing triple entertainment with the chance to win a goldfish, guaranteed to win “wacky ball” and “claw machines” filled with a variety of fun prizes which had many people leaving wearing smiles. “We do it for fun,” he said.

Free entertainment throughout the weekend included Sweet Revenge, DJ Tony Monge & his Sidekick, 400 Dead Whiskey Stamps, magician Don Severn and Abandoned Mind.
