Indian Mountain Lake hosts its third fall festival
It was perfect weather around the lake for the third annual Fall Festival at Indian Mountain Lake.
Games for the kids were set up inside the basketball court. Blowup skee ball, an inflatable football throw, ring toss and Velcro ball toss were some of the game choices.
Kids kept coming back to shoot the Velcro darts from a bow and arrow and try to land a bullseye with plastic axes.
Prize tickets were given out where a variety of prizes could be chosen.
Lots of mouthwatering food was for sale such as candy apples, caramel apples, flavored popcorn, sausage and peppers and pulled pork and a smash burger food truck. There were many choices of sweet treats too, including “Sharlene’s Kreations” who makes small cakes with flavors, including carrot cake, vanilla bean and chocolate with Nutella icing. Macaroons and apple slushies were also available from her stand.
Association Manager Kelly McDermott said, “The purpose is to have an event for everybody in the community to come together. We have wonderful stuff for the kids, including crafts. Everyone gets a chance to enjoy the beautiful community and weather and have fun with friends and neighbors.”
Booths with yard sale items and food vendors lined the walkway with the lake in the background. Inside the clubhouse craft vendors were selling their unique items. This is included, homemade soaps, paintings, tie-dyes and more.
Dawn Scott has been in the community for three years and said the fall festival “Keeps getting better and better.”
This year’s event included a huge castle, bounce house and free face painting for everyone.
