The Rev. William C. Mayes was formally installed as pastor of Christ United Church of Christ, Jim Thorpe, during a Service of Celebration and Installation held on Sunday afternoon.

James Mertz, president of the church Consistory, presented the new pastor to the congregation and the Rev. Dr. William T. Longsdorf, president of the Penn Northeast Conference of the United Church of Christ, welcomed the clergyman to the conference and delivered the sermon on the theme “Called of God.”

A son of Mrs. Ella Mayes and the late Roy C. Mayes, the pastor graduated from the Lancaster Theological Seminary.
