The Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, has cited a Lehighton business for an alleged violation of state liquor laws.
The Fraternal Order of Orioles, Nest No. 183, was cited for selling alcoholic beverages without authority in that its license expired and/or was held in safekeeping, or its temporary operating authority expired.
Police said the Orioles violated four sections of the state Liquor Code between Sept. 1 and 6.
All citations issued by the LCE agents are brought before an administrative law judge, who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revoke a license based on the severity of the charges.
