Turnpike adds additional toll options for motorists

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is now offering customers more ways to pay.

Customers can now use Google Pay and Apple Pay as the newest options to pay tolls.

“These new payment options deliver what the majority of our customers want: seamless and convenient mobility,” said turnpike CEO Mark Compton. “Our customers have a clear preference for electronic payments, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is dedicated to understanding and meeting their evolving needs.”

Customers access the options as mobile payment options through the turnpike’s on-the-go account management app, PA Toll Pay.

Available in the Apple Store and on Google Play, the app, which hit 2 million downloads in May, gives travelers easy access to transactions, monthly statements, available balance visibility and a host of other services, such as payments and E-ZPass transponder ordering.

Google Pay is also available for customers paying through the E-ZPass website.

E-ZPass is the most cost-effective way to travel the Pennsylvania Turnpike, with rates that are half the cost of toll-by-plate charges.
