The Pennsylvania Turnpike advises drivers that road closures are scheduled this weekend on the Northeast Extension (Interstate 476).

The Northeast Extension will be closed in both directions tonight at 11 until Saturday, at 6 a.m. and again from Saturday at 11 p.m. until Sunday, Oct. 6 at 6 a.m. between the Route 903 (Exit 87) and Pocono (Exit 95) Interchanges. The closures are necessary to allow turnpike crews to safely make repairs in the area of the Hawk Falls Mainline Bridge Replacement (Milepost A88.6) that are needed on the current roadway prior to winter.

Pennsylvania State Police and PA Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted areas to assist drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide information on the closure.
