Penn State Extension’s Master Watershed Steward team is surveying community members to help shape its future programming.
The survey is aimed at gathering input on how Extension can better support conservation efforts in local communities.
The Master Watershed Steward program educates and empowers volunteers to protect environmental resources. Stewards work with the community to improve the health of streams, rivers and other natural resources.
In this 5- to 10-minute survey, respondents can indicate their level of interest in topics such as:
• How to care for a stream on their property.
• Creating habitat for songbirds, butterflies and other wildlife.
• Installing rain barrels and rain gardens.
• Reducing plastic and other pollution in waterways.
• Conserving water inside and outside.
• Monitoring stream health through water quality sampling.
• Managing invasive species.
• Joining community efforts to protect the environment.
• Climate science.
Respondents also can express preferences for educational formats, such as in-person workshops, online webinars, printed materials, short educational videos, digital publications, bus tours, walking or biking tours, and field days.
The deadline to complete this survey is Oct. 15. The survey is available at https://extension.psu.edu/MWS-Survey-2024.
