Three area volleyball teams picked up wins on Thursday.
Jim Thorpe, Northwestern and Panther Valley were all successful on the court.
Other winners included Lehighton and Northern in boys soccer, and Tamaqua in girls soccer.

Palmerton-Jim Thorpe
Jim Thorpe captured a Colonial League win over Palmerton in straight sets.
Brooke Mitzen had 14 kills to lead the Olympians, while Kelsey Patton and Brianna Snisky both finished with nine.

Panther Valley cruised to a three-set Schuylkill League win over visiting Lourdes Regional.
A match after awarding coach Emilie Hannis her 100th career win, the Panthers received seven kills, four digs and two assists from Emma Dacey to key another victory.

On Wednesday, both the Marian boys and girls teams finished 2-1 at a Schuylkill League quad meet in Schuylkill Haven.
The Colts’ Wade Eroh and Achilles Fitzpatrick finished fourth and fifth respectively, while the Fillies’ Teaghan Biros and Anna Keer also placed fourth and fifth.
Weatherly, meanwhile, received a second place in the boys race from Sebastian Williams.
