Michelle Damiano, a member of the junior class at Panther Valley High School, was crowned Rose Queen during the 46th Annual Shower of Roses celebration held in Nesquehoning on Sunday.

She was crowned by Dr. Larry Giovacchini, new principal of the high school who was accompanied by his wife, Diane.

Named Rose Princess was Rose Ann Vignone, also a junior at Panther Valley.

Another special guest who attended the event was U.S. Congressman Daniel Flood, who afterwards called Msgr. Agnello Angelini, founder of the event,” a magnificent man.”
