A Germansville man has died after a motorcycle crash early this morning in Washington Township.

The Lehigh County Coroner identified the man as Frederick R. Brauchle, 64. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:50 a.m.

Pennsylvania State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, said troopers were dispatched around 5:50 a.m. to the area of 4842 Mountain Road for the report of a motorcycle crash.

Police determined Brauchle was driving a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle that collided with a deer.

Mountain Road was closed between Furnace Road in Washington Township and Jones Road in Heidelberg Township during this investigation.

Mountain Road was reopened at 8:30 a.m.

Assisting at the scene were the Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Lehigh County Coroners Office, Slatedale Fire Department and Northern Valley Emergency Medical Services.
