Cruise lovers with a zest for traveling can take part in a fundraiser being staged next year to assist the Palmerton Area Library.
The Fall Foliage Cruise to benefit the library will be voyaging from Oct. 5-12, 2025.
The cruise is being run by Dream Vacations and goes up the East Coast.
Library Director Christine DeSousa said that the cruise tickets are already on sale.
For every cabin they sell, the library will get $100 back.
“The funds raised will be used for building operations as well as general operation,” DeSousa said.
“The library is dedicated to doing everything it can for its community, and instead of charging for services, we are going different routes for raising money for our needs,” she said.
The Fall Foliage Cruise will leave from New York City and visit Newport, Rhode Island; Portland, Maine; Bar Harbor, Maine; Halifax, Nova Scotia; and Saint John, New Brunswick.
Only 75 cabins are available.
DeSousa said that if people aren’t interested themselves, they can tell their family and friends about it.
“This cruise is great for groups and people who are nervous about going too far abroad,” she said.

The cruise is being offered in cooperation with Dream Vacations and Norwegian Cruise Line.
