Local Roundup: Results from Sept. 26

Hat tricks from Jake van Lierop, Sophia Schaffer and Sara Lesnik helped their respective teams to wins on Thursday.

Van Lierop recorded four goals for the Northwestern boys soccer team, while Schaffer aided the Tigers’ girls soccer victory. Lesnik’s big game lifted the Pleasant Valley field hockey squad.

Palmerton-Lehighton

Palmerton and Lehighton battled to a 1-1 draw.

Trevor Anthony accounted for the Bombers’ lone goal, while Jacib Anthony registered the Indians’ only tally.

Notre Dame rallied in the second half to hand Jim Thorpe a 3-2 Colonial League defeat.

Noah Geiser had a goal and an assist for the Olympians, who saw the Crusaders score three second-half goals to earn the win.
