A 21-year-old Slatington man was injured after crashing his vehicle and flipping it onto its roof in an incident at 9:37 p.m. Monday on Mountain Road, Heidelberg Township Route 4024.
State police at the Bethlehem barracks said Chad A. DeLong was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township. Police said the severity of his injuries is unknown.
Police said he was driving a 2000 Jeep Cherokee eastbound when it went off the road and struck a mailbox located aside the roadway with its front bumper.
The Jeep continued to travel off the road and went to a woods where it struck a tree with its passenger-side front wheel and flipped onto its roof, coming to rest partially blocking the east lane of travel.
Police said DeLong was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
