The Schuylkill County Commissioners are expected to prepare for the upcoming election at their meeting on Wednesday.
At their work session last week, the commissioners discussed hiring 14 election rovers to start immediately for office preparation and logistics at the rate of $12 per hour, plus 0.655 cents per mile mileage on Election Day to travel to polling sites.
The 14 are: Michael Onuskanich, Ron Coleman, Carol Cooney-Syzdek, Paula Warmkessel, John Handler, John Guers, Tim Wood, Gary Keifer, Cindy Wachter, Jim Gustus and Julie Zangari.
The commissioners are also expected to hire four subcontractors as needed: Delmar Phillips, Carol Cooney-Syzdek, Mary Ann Yanchulis and Paula Warmkessel.
Also, 11 drivers will be hired to deliver Election Day supplies and equipment in preparation for the election: Vivian Rupert, $300; William Klinger and Darren Phillips. $310; Jay Tobias, Rory Reiley, Keith Pogash and Linda Handler, $320; Gary Keifer, $340; James Zerbe, $350, and Delnar Phillips, $360.
The commissioners will hire eight additional drivers at $14 per hour, plus the following eight subcontractors: Delmar Phillips, Andrew Gricoski, Gary Goodman, Jeff Kovach, Keith Pogash, Steve McCord. Darren Phillips and John Guers.
Four resolution board members will be hired at $100 each for election night at the Election Bureau: Renee Buchanan, Edward Barket, Michael Vigoda and Bob Bylone.
Finally, up to eight people will be hired for the computing board at $75 per day beginning Nov. 8, the day after the election, at the Election Bureau office to begin the computation and canvassing from the election returns.
