Police said he was driving a 2013 Jeep Wrangler that accelerated at a high rate of speed when it drove off the road and hit an embankment, traveling up it and down the other side. The Jeep had to be towed from the scene.

They said he was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley EMS unit to St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

Police said he was driving a 2000 Toyota Tundra northbound and was negotiating a right curve when he lost control of the vehicle. It traveled onto a front lawn at 7114 Route 873, where it hit a large boulder and then a utility pole.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Police said Gaul, driving a 2024 Kia Forte, was northbound approaching the intersection with Old Packhouse Road, where a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse operated by Bradley L. Lindquist, 38, of Schnecksville, was stopped facing east and awaiting a green signal.

When the light changed, Lindquist proceeded across the southbound lanes and the Forte hit the Traverse after failing to stop at the red signal, police said. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Lindquist and four passengers were uninjured.
