Nesquehoning man had fentanyl, mushrooms, cocaine

A Nesquehoning man faces several drug charges following an investigation that netted an assortment of drugs and money.

According to Nesquehoning police, a search warrant was executed early Friday morning on the 300 block of West Railroad Street following a monthlong investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics sold around Carbon County.

Nesquehoning Police as members of the Carbon County Drug Task Force in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, arrested Joshua Beury, 43.

The task force seized approximately 300 grams of psilocybin mushrooms; 86.6 grams of methamphetamine; 15.31 grams of cocaine; 40.1 grams of marijuana; 0.25 grams of fentanyl; 26 tablets of clonazepam; and eight tablets of amphetamine/dextroamphetamine; as well as drug paraphernalia including packing material, scales, fake can goods with false bottoms and $535.

Beury faces six felony counts of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance.

He was arraigned by District Judge Joseph Homanko in Weatherly, where bail was set at $150,000 straight cash. He is currently being lodged in the Carbon County Correctional Facility.

In addition to Nesquehoning Police and the Office of Attorney General, the team was assisted by Franklin Township Police Department, Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, Carbon County District Attorney’s Office, and Lehighton Ambulance.
