Republican Robert Bresnahan will challenge Democrat Matt Cartwright for the 8th Congressional district in November.

Mr. Bresnahan has a degree in business administration. He is CEO of the family business, Kuharchik Construction.

Matt Cartwright has been fighting for policies to strengthen the middle class since 2013. He voted for Biden’s Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act, CHIPS & Science Act, and PACT Act which finally expanded VA health care for veterans. Important manufacturing jobs are coming back to our country, including new manufacturing jobs and after a long time, our crumbling infrastructure will get rebuilt.

Public investment in America to grow the middle class.

Matt voted to lower the cost of prescription drugs, to secure Social Security and Medicare for the future and make billionaires pay their fair share in taxes.

All Pennsylvania U.S. House Democrats voted YES for Biden’s plan. Interesting, Pennsylvania House Republicans who cover rural PA, (the area in desperate need of good paying jobs), voted NO. They are Dan Meuser, John Joyce, Fred Keller, Mike Kelley, Scott Perry, Guy Reschenthaler, Glen Thompson, and Lloyd Smucker.

Here we are, living in a plutocracy. The wealthy bought politicians to rig the system. Corporations spend $3 Billion annually on lobbyists. 40 years of Republican “trickle down economics” never happened.

Republicans talked about job creation but never put forth those policies. From 1989 to 2020 wealth in America became increasing concentrated and according to Statista, today the top 10% hold the majority of wealth in the U.S.

Income inequality is a defining issue and the Democratic Party is addressing it.

Last but not least, Matt Cartwright supports reproductive rights.
