Music fans will have plenty of chances to rock on over the next couple of weeks, with a number of rock acts coming to local and regional venues.

Among the highlights: glam metal band Warrant and Canadian band April Wine at Penn’s Peak; Christian band Skillet and South African band Seether at Wind Creek Event Center; and K.K. Downing, Judas Priest co-founder, and his KK’s Priest band at Sherman Theater.

In the retro-movie world, filmmaker John Waters returns to The Mahoning Drive-In Theater for the second Filthy Film Festival.

• Direct From Sweden, 8 p.m. Sept. 21. The act pays tribute to pop/rock group ABBA.

• Warrant and April Wine, 8 p.m. Sept. 28. Formed in 1984 in Hollywood, California, glam metal band Warrant released its ninth studio album in 2017. The group’s hit singles include “Heaven“ and “Cherry Pie.” Canadian rock band April Wine, formed in 1969, has 16 studio albums to its credit, scoring hit singles such as “Roller” and “Just Between You And Me.”

• Jamie Baum Quartet, 7 p.m. Sept. 20. Baum, a New York City flutist and 2014 Guggenheim Fello, also composes, records, produces, and works as a clinician and educator.

• Steve Sandberg Trio, 7 p.m. Sept. 27. Aside from Sandberg, a pianist/composer and Emmy nominee, the trio features bassist Ken Filiano and drummer Juan Felipe Mayorga. Sandberg performed with acts such as Celia Cruz and Tito Puente, worked on the animated “Dora the Explorer” and related series, and toured with Talking Heads’ David Byrne.

• Filthy Film Festival: Part II, Sept. 27 and 28. Filmmaker John Waters will attend the event, a collaboration with Exhumed Films. Screenings include 1970s “Multiple Maniacs,” 1981’s “Polyester,” 1994’s “Serial Mom” and 2004’s “Cecil. B. Demented.” The event also includes the DirtBall Mall market and contests. VIP access at 4 p.m.; general admission at 7 p.m.

• Christine’s Car Show, 5 p.m. Sept. 29. The event includes John Carpenter’s 1983 film adaptation of Stephen King’s “Christine,” plus a car show courtesy of Regular Car Reviews.

• Skillet and Seether, 6 p.m. Sept. 21. Formed in 1996 in Memphis, Tennessee, Christian rock band Skillet will release its 12th studio album “Revolution” in November. The band’s hits include “Hero,” “Monster” and “Feel Invincible.” Formed in 1999, South African rock band Seether will release ninth studio set “The Surface Seems So Far” on Sept. 20. The group’s hits include “Remedy,” “Fake It,” “Judas Mind” and Amy Lee collaboration “Broken.”

• “Late Nite Catechism,” 7 p.m. Sept. 20. In Vicki Quade and Maripat Dononvan’s 1993 solo comedy play, a benevolent Sister teaches class to a room of “students,” aka audience members. Correct answers earn rewards, while naughty behavior may result in “time-outs.”

• Air Supply, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 28. The British-Australian pop-rock duo, formed in 1975, has 17 studio albums to its credit. Air Supply’s biggest hit singles include “Lost in Love,” “All Out of Love,” “The One That You Love” and “Making Love Out of Nothing at All.”

• “Puppy Pals Live,” 3 p.m. Sept. 29. Adopted and rescued dogs perform stunts and feats.

• “Tina: The Tina Turner Musical,” 7 p.m. Oct. 1 and 2. The show, debuting in London in 2018 and on Broadway in 2019, depicts the life of late rocker Tina Turner. Pulitzer Prize winner Katori Hall wrote the book, along with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins.

• KK’s Priest, 8 p.m. Sept. 20. K.K. Downing, Judas Priest co-founder and former guitarist, started English heavy metal band KK’s Priest in 2020. The group released its second studio album, “The Sinner Rides Again,” in 2023.

• Sleepy Hallow and Sheff G, 8 p.m. Oct. 3. Born in Brooklyn, New York, the rappers — collaborators on “Tip Toe,” among other tracks — specialize in Brooklyn drill, a subgenre of rap music. Sleepy Hallow’s hit singles include “Deep End Freestyle” and “2055.”
