Palmerton business cited for liquor citation

The Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, Wilkes-Barre Office, has cited a Palmerton business for violating state liquor laws.

Police said the Corner Pocket Saloon was cited because between June 13 and July 8 it failed to have its board-approved manager complete owner/manager training within 180 days of the board’s approval of the appointment.

The charge will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose a penalty ranging from $50 to $1,000 for a minor offense and up to $5,000 for a more serious offense. The judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought, and can also mandate training for the licensee in an effort to educate it on the requirements of being a licensee.
