Palmerton’s Connor Hibell set a course record at Jim Thorpe in cross country action on Tuesday.

In other action, both Pleasant Valley soccer teams picked up wins.

The Lehighton boys went 3-1, while Palmerton’s Connor Hibell set a course record in winning the race.

Hibell crossed in 16:36, finishing over a minute ahead of runner-up Elijah Pagotto of Lehighton. The Indians’ Kyle Kuznicki took fifth.

In the girls competition, Lehighton’s Claudia Pagotto earned second, while Northern Lehigh’s Emma Heil (third) and Jim Thorpe’s Stacy Bos (fourth) also placed in the top five.

Xander Giandomenico paced the Tigers with a fifth-place finish. In the girls competition, which Northwestern went 1-2, the Tigers’ Rosalia Nestor was second place in a time of 19:31.

Jason Kays recorded a top 20 finish with a 16th.

The Pleasant Valley girls beat Allen but lost to Parkland. Danielle Boland was the top runner for the Bears, taking fourth.

Brianna Snisky had 14 kills and seven digs to help lead Jim Thorpe to a 3-0 Colonial League win over Pen Argyl.

Maura Malaska added 41 assists, while Kelsey Patton contributed 11 kills and five digs for the Olympians, winners of seven straight matches.
