I am looking forward to casting my mail in ballot for the election this fall. The only question is will I get the ballot in time. For the primary election I got the ballot nine days before the election. If you take away the two Sundays when mail isn’t delivered, that was seven days before the election.
I immediately mailed my ballot, and the elections office emailed me that they received my ballot seven days later. When I called the Carbon County Elections Office, they said the ballots were late because they had to wait for the state to certify their ballots. I don’t know if that is the reason the ballots were delayed because Schuylkill County had their ballots to the voters 4 weeks before the election.
Why would the state delay certifying Carbon County’s ballots but then certify the county next door in a timely manner? Is this a plot to not count mail in ballots by not allowing enough time to get the ballots to the Elections Office?
Carbon County needs to mail out the ballots MORE than 2 weeks before the election. I am looking forward to a free and fair election by getting my ballot in a fair time frame.
