State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following crashes:
• No one was injured in a head-on crash at 3:19 p.m. Sept. 6 on Route 309 in Heidelberg Township.
Police said it happened when a 2010 Subaru Forester driven by Elisa R. Pope, 23, of Bethlehem, while failing to yield while attempting to enter the roadway, was struck by a 2016 GMC Sierra operated by Brian S. Faust, 39, of Tamaqua, who was northbound at the time.
Police said both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
Personnel from the Northern Valley EMS unit assisted at the scene and evaluated both drivers, police said.
They said Pope was cited for “vehicle entering or crossing a roadway.”
• Dana S. DeCosta, 59, of Pipersville, sustained suspected minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 5:14 p.m. Aug. 23 on Kernsville Road in North Whitehall Township.
Police said he was driving a 2021 Toyota Highlander that was eastbound and approaching a work zone when the vehicle struck a traffic sign, continued eastbound and impacted a large pile of rocks.
Police said the driver attempted to perform a U-turn and travel westbound into the oncoming eastbound lane where it struck a rock pile a second time, becoming lodge on it.
Police said an open bottle of Vodka was found on the floor of the vehicle, which was towed from the scene.
DeCosta was charged for driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance – highest rate of alcohol.
