The Rush Township Supervisors took time during their monthly meeting to honor Hometown resident John R. Morgan of Meadow Avenue who is retiring after serving 31 years on the township’s sewer authority.
Supervisors George Pinkey, Ronald Werner and Raymond Boyer were joined by secretary-treasurer Carol Ann Opet in presenting Morgan a plaque in recognition of his service to the township.
Morgan is a charter member of the authority who was appointed by the board of supervisors in 1962 and went on to serve a six-year term and then five consecutive five-year terms.
Former sewer authority member Lynn Paisley was appointed during August’s meeting to succeed Morgan, having been tabbed for a five-year term.
