Northern Lehigh School Board
Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following matters on Monday:
• Purchase two nine-passenger vans at a cost not to exceed $118,000.
• Memorandum of Understanding with the Northern Lehigh Education Association for personal days.
• Pest control services at Peters Elementary School at a cost of $9,848.
• Execute the Pixellot Extension Addendum effective Aug. 1 through July 31, 2029, at no cost to the district.
• Designate and authorize Chief David Jones, safety and security coordinator/school police chief; Mark Nicosia, Mark Thomas, Scott Prebosnyak, school police officers; James Schnyderite, principal, Peters Elementary School; Todd Breiner, Slatington Elementary; David Hauser, principal, Northern Lehigh Middle School; Lori Bali, Ph.D., principal, Northern Lehigh High School; Michael Strohl, assistant principal, Northern Lehigh High School and Middle School; to sign summary offense notices for district for the 2024-2025 school year, after consultation with the superintendent.
• Final club/activity application for the German Club. The Northern Lehigh Education Association recommended stipend for the adviser of this club, Nick Sander, is $600, beginning with the 2024-2025 school year.
Curriculum and instruction
• Continue membership in the Lehigh University School Study Council at a fee of $1,500 for the 2024-2025 school year, to be paid from the superintendent’s budget.
• Execute a letter of agreement for the 2024-2025 academic year with the Center for Humanistic Change Inc. to provide Student Assistance Program Liaison Services.
• Agreement with Apple Tree Educational Associates LLC to provide bilingual school psychologist services to assist the Special Education Department.
• Final agreement with CLIU #21 for Title II Non-Public Administration and Services for the 2024-2025 school year in the amount of $5,050 to be funded through federal programs.
• Final agreement with CLIU #21 for Title IV Non-Public Administration and Services for the 2024-2025 school year in the amount of $716 to be funded through federal programs.
• Final agreement with CLIU #21 for Title I Non-Public Services for the 2024-2025 school year in the amount of $2,698 to be funded through federal programs.
Conferences
• Nichole Fink, orientation to school food services, fall 2024, sponsored by Penn State, Oct. 9 to 10, PATTAN Harrisburg, travel, $206, to be funded out of the food service budget.
• Jamie Farber, fall child accounting conference, Attendance/Child Accounting Professional Association Fall Conference, Nov. 6 to 8, Hershey, with the cost of registration, $370; travel, $102; lodging, $607; meals, $120, for a total cost of about $1,198 to be funded through the assistant superintendent’s professional development budget.
• Manuel Gonzalez, American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, Nov. 22 to 24, Philadelphia, with the cost of registration, $415; travel, $67; lodging, $600; other, $120, for a total cost of about $1,202 to be funded through the Title III budget.
• Tania Stoker, Ph.D., EF Tours Global Leadership Development Program, Panama, Oct. 10 to 14, amend original conference approval from May 2024 to include lodging for one night at an additional cost of about $55, to be funded through the assistant superintendent’s professional development budget.
