State police at Hazleton

State police at the Hazleton barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 29-year-old Beaver Meadows man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police conducted a traffic stop at 12:59 a.m. Sept. 3.

He was stopped in a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado on South Church Street in Hazleton.

• A 51-year-old Beaver Meadows man is facing charges of fleeing and eluding police after an incident at 8:23 a.m. Aug. 29 on Berwick Street in Banks Township.

Police said they responded to a reported Protection From Abuse order violations involving the complainant’s father, after which time it was determined the man had an active arrest warrant against him. Police said he ran to avoid apprehension.

• A 23-year-old man from Kingston is facing charges of possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident at 6:24 a.m. Aug. 27 on Interstate 476 southbound in Kidder Township.

Police said he was driving a 2021 International Harvester that police were inspecting. Police said drug paraphernalia was found during a consensual search, and the man was transported to the barracks for processing and released.
