State police at Bethlehem - crashes

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following crashes:

• Two drivers were injured in a crash at 6:54 p.m. Sept. 3 at the intersection of Route 248 and Airport Road in East Allen Township.

Police said the crash occurred when a 16-year-old boy from Bath, driving a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic east on Route 248, failed to yield to oncoming traffic while making a left turn into a gas station lot.

The Sonic, police said, struck the front bumper of a 2010 Hyundai Elantra driven westbound by Stephanie E. Wood, 32, of Lehighton. Police said personnel from the Northampton Regional EMS responded but neither driver had to be transported from the scene.

The 16-year-old boy cited after the crash, according to police.

• A 2016 Chevrolet Impala struck a deer at 11:35 p.m. Sept. 7 on Route 309 in North Whitehall Township.

Police said the vehicle was southbound when the deer entered its path. The car had minor damages to its hood, bumper and undercarriage.

Police said the driver was uninjured.

• Injuries were minor in a two-vehicle crash at 5:09 p.m. Aug. 24 on Route 22 in Whitehall.

Police said the crash occurred when a 2024 Subaru Outback driven by Sean R. McCormick, 39, of Palmerton, slowed due to a backup of traffic and was struck in the rear by a 2021 Honda Pilot driven by Eric D. Villegas, 32, of Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Police said the Pilot had disabling damages, while the Outback was damaged but drivable.

Justyna Szczesna, 36, of Wind Gap, a passenger with McCormick, had minor injuries but did not require a medical transport, while Stacey A. Mesa, 52, of Elizabeth, a passenger with Villegas, was transported by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem, to be treated for possible injuries, police said.

Villegas was cited after the crash, according to police.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 3:36 p.m. Aug. 23 on the on-ramp of Route 22 westbound in Bethlehem.

Police said the crash occurred when a 2022 Toyota Sienna driven by Khaled E. Eid, 48, of Slatington, traveling west, left its lane and traveled onto the right shoulder to illegally pass a motorists, at which time the Sienna struck the passenger-side mirror of a 2013 Ford F-150 operated by Andrea Milito-Alvarado, 58, of Whitehall.

Eid fled the scene but Milito-Alvarado followed him until he pulled into the barracks’ parking lot, police said.

Eid was cited after the crash, according to police.
