September 9, 1983 — Bob Hartman scores a pair of touchdowns, one on a punt return and another on a pass, to help Lehighton gain a 35-12 victory over Salisbury. Hartman opens the game’s scoring when he fields a first-quarter punt and returns it 50 yards to the end zone. Tom Keer doubles the advantage on a 24-yard scoring run before Jody Mertz makes it 21-0 with a 10-yard TD burst. The Indians, coached by Dave Parsons, add to the lead on Scott Freeman’s 15-yard scoring run and Keer’s 31-yard touchdown toss to Hartman. Freeman leads a balanced offensive attack with 68 yards rushing on just six carries.
