September 7, 1974 — Rich Kuhn scores three touchdown and Jim Thorpe pulls away from Weatherly in the second half to gain a 41-0 victory. Kuhn reaches the end zone on a 21-yard run in the second quarter for the game’s only TD in the opening half. Kuhn doubles the advantage with another 21-yard scoring scamper in the third, and later recovers a fumble in the end zone for his third score. The Olympians, coached by Barry Hackenberg, receive a pair of touchdowns catches from Leroy Strohl, one each from Berrae Meixsell and Dru Herma. Meixsell also throws a scoring pass to Farley Foster.
