The Carbon County Commissioners conducted the following business Thursday.

• Received correspondence from the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission regarding an application by Reading Blue Mountain and Northern Railroad for the installation of active warning devices at the Allen Street crossing. The estimated cost for the installation of crossing if approved is $551,938.44.

• Appointed Kenneth Reisinger to the Pocono Counties Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Development Board. The term ends June 30, 2027.

• Approved a quote from Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP of Allentown to replace the DSX controller in the basement of the courthouse at a cost of $11,632.24.

• Hire: Elizabeth A. Shubeck of Summit Hill, secretary III, commissioners’ office, effective Sept. 23.

• Change of status: Koy M. Wentz of Lehighton, from part-time dispatcher trainee to part-time dispatcher, communications center, effective Sept. 16.

• Courts change of status: Joseph L. Bettine of Tresckow, from probation officer II, to probation officer II/Gagnon hearing officer, adult probation, effective Sept. 9.
