West Penn Township is investigating a personnel matter involving a police department employee.

“Nobody has been fired or resigned at this time,” according to the township. “The department is functioning appropriately and we are meeting coverage requirements for our residents.”

The township noted that it is following the “rules/guidelines” required for investigations.

It expects to release more information as it becomes available.

The township’s board of supervisors held a regular meeting and executive session Tuesday.

Police department personnel matters were not discussed during the public meeting.
