Kudos to Ed Socha for his enlightening article in the Aug. 28 edition of the Times News.
His explanation of the agenda for “Moms for Liberty” is spot on. Everyone should read the article and understand that this is only the beginning of more limiting of access to educational materials.
Mr. Gleaves’ remarks about children being manipulated into having their genitalia removed are abhorrent. Making a statement such as that should require documented medical records. Does he have that?
I wonder if Mr. Gleaves can understand the concept of a teen grappling with identity problems and not finding answers. If that teen were to end his or her life, would Mr. Gleaves understand that by limiting the opportunity for that teen to gain access to such material that he caused that teen to take his or her own life. He’s willing to rush to judgment on what should be read; is he also willing to take the blame for causing problems?l
I agree with Mr. Socha’s comments on what a school board should be and do.
My belief is that all persons running for a public office need to list all of their affiliations. Having a hidden agenda hurts us all.
All four of my daughters are graduates of Lehighton High, and I can say with pride that their education was well rounded. In many cases, I, as a parent learned things from them. It made me a better parent.
I encourage all parents in the Lehighton area to find and read Mr. Socha’s article.
It will wake you up to what is happening.
