Palmerton’s Connor Hibell finished third in the Class 1A/2A field at the Northampton Cross County Invitational on Saturday.
Tamaqua’s Anthony Marchetti (sixth) and Levi Kunkel (ninth), along with Lehighton’s Elijah Pagotto (eighth), also placed in the top 10.

Palmerton’s Conner Hibell was the top local finisher at Saturday’s Northampton Invitational, held at Bicentennial Park in East Allen Township.
The Blue Bomber junior finished 16th overall, and third among Class 1A/2A competition at the meet. Tamaqua’s Anthony Marchetti finished 23rd in the boys race and sixth among small school runners, while Lehighton’s Elijah Pagotto was 27th overall and eighth among 1A/2A competition. Tamaqua’s Levi Kunkel was ninth among small school runners, and 31st overall.
In the girls race, Northern Lehigh’s Emma Heil was the top local finisher in 56th place overall and 18th in the small school pool, with Lehighton’s Claudia Pagotto just behind in 19th place (59th overall).
