Turnpike crashes

State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Michael S. Wright Sr., 64, of Palmerton, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 2:47 a.m. Aug. 28 at mile marker 117.5 in Pittston Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from Pennsylvania Ambulance to the Geisinger Community Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Police said he was driving a 2022 Freightliner southbound when the dump bed of the rig struck the overpass of the Susquehanna Connector Road. The rig then struck the center concrete barrier and came to rest in the left lane, with the bed on the barrier.

• Catherine L. White, 63, of Philadelphia, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 3:33 p.m. Aug. 18 at mile marker 72.1 in East Penn Township.

She was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

Police said she was driving a northbound 2020 Nissan Pathfinder when she lost control of the vehicle and it struck a concrete barrier.

• A driver and three passengers were uninjured in a crash at 1:53 p.m. Aug. 9 at mile marker 75.8 in Kidder Township.

Police said Erika R. Leidy, 26, of Prospect Park, was driving a southbound 2006 Ford Fusion too fast for conditions when the car struck a concrete barrier, rotated and then hit a guide rail.

She was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed, police said.
