The Tamaqua Salvation Army welcomed Captain Ralph and Mrs. Laura Rogers to the area this week.
They succeed Captain and Mrs. Jack Daum, who were transferred to another area.
Rogers originally resided in Orange, Mass., and entered officers’ training from Athol, Mass. He was commissioned an officer from the Salvation Army School for Officers Training in Suffern, N.Y., in 1973.
The couple married in 1974 and has served appointments in Pen Argyl, West Pittston and Harrisburg.
Capt. Rogers took command of the Tamaqua corps on Wednesday and will be given a public welcome in September.
