State police at Bethlehem - crashes

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following crashes:

• Daniel L. Gardo Jr., 45, of Northampton, was not injured in a hit-and-run crash at 9:01 p.m. Aug. 25 on Weaversville Road in East Allen Township.

Police said he was driving a 2014 Ford Fusion that was sideswiped by an unknown vehicle whose driver failed to stop to exchange information.

• Zachary S. Goffredo, 23, of Lehighton, was injured in a crash at 7:57 p.m. Aug. 24 on the Bake Oven Road in Heidelberg Township.

Police said he was a passenger in a 2001 GMC Jimmy operated by William A. James III, 19, of Quakertown, who was uninjured. Police said Goffredo refused a medical transport.

Police said the crash occurred when James was southbound and over-compensated while negotiating a left curve. The vehicle exited its travel lane and went onto a grass hill, where it hit a tree and rolled onto its left side.

James was cited after the crash, police said.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 4:31 p.m. Aug. 22 at the intersection of Old Post and Bellview roads in North Whitehall Township.

The crash occurred when a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 16-year-old boy from Allentown failed to yield to a 2019 Nissan Sentra operated by Ignacio C. Gonzalez, 20, of Palmerton.

Police said the Malibu struck the front right bumper with its front passenger’s side door.

The 16-year-old was cited after the crash police said.

• Alexander Savary, 50, of Schnecksville, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a one-vehicle crash on Route 309 in North Whitehall Township at 12:32 a.m. Aug. 12.

Police said he was driving a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 northbound when it failed to maintain its lane of travel, traveled onto the right side of the road and then hit a utility pole. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Police said Savary had minor injuries and was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley ambulance corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township.

• Christopher Bixler, 36, of Allentown, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a motorcycle crash at 11:54 p.m. July 25 at the intersection of Old Packhouse Road and Kidspeace Drive in North Whitehall Township.

Police did not provide the details of the crash except to say a 2002 Hartline travel trailer was towed from the scene.
