A public hearing will be conducted tonight concerning the proposed 420,000-square foot warehouse to be constructed on Route 940 in Kidder Township.
The hearing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Jim Thorpe High School, 1 Olympian Way, Jim Thorpe.
The PA Department of Environmental Protection will conduct the hearing, focusing on the stormwater run-off to be generated by this warehouse.
The PA Dept. of Environmental Protection is responsible for ensuring that polluted run-off does not flow into our rivers and creeks carrying sediment and toxins.
The Department considers protections from this run-off as they issue “National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System” permits. Every development of an acre or more is required to show that run-off from impervious surfaces like warehouse roofs and parking lots will not harm streams and waterways.
