State police at Stroudsburg

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported the following incidents:

• Police responded to a burglary at 3:57 p.m. Aug. 9 at an abandoned property on Turkey Hill Road, Hamilton Township.

There was damage to the residence consistent with forced entry, according to police.

• A 54-year-old Scranton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police conducted a traffic stop at 7:27 p.m. Aug. 16.

The man was stopped in a 2020 Hyundai Sonata for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Route 33 in Hamilton Township.

• A 42-year-old East Stroudsburg man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance after police conducted a traffic stop at 12:56 p.m. Aug. 21

He was stopped on a 1990 Kawasaki motorcycle for a traffic violation, police said.

• A 51-year-old Stroudsburg man was cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to an active domestic dispute between a father and daughter at 9:03 p.m. Aug. 21 on Kirk Lane, Hamilton Township.

Police said the man and his 23-year-old daughter, also from Stroudsburg, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated when the father shut a door on his daughter’s leg. Police said she complained of leg pain but did not require an emergency transport.

• Police were summoned to an erratic driver report at 12:09 p.m. Aug. 22 where Route 33 merges onto Interstate 80 in Hamilton Township.

They said a 38-year-old man from Bethlehem, driving a 2023 Honda, was observed committing traffic violations and was stopped. Police said they found him to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of a controlled substance.

• A 21-year-old Stroudsburg man reported a theft to police at 7:16 a.m. Aug. 23.

The theft occurred on Chevy Lane in Hamilton Township, where the man’s Mongoose bicycle valued at $170 was stolen from the driveway of a home.

• Police said a woman arrived at their barracks in Hamilton Township at 10:52 a.m. July 24 to sign off on custody of a firearm belonging to her deceased husband from a separate investigation. They said that the woman also turned over two more firearms to them for destruction.
