Leonard F. Marzen Jr., Jim Thorpe, has resigned his position as executive director of the Carbon County Area Agency on Aging, it was revealed today by the county commissioners.

Marzen will assume the position of coordinator of the 20th Anniversary Fund at the Allentown College of St. Francis de Sales effective Oct. 1.

The son of Mrs. and Mrs. Leonard F. Marzen Sr., he resides at 10 W. 10th St. in the county seat community. He is a 1966 graduate of Marian Catholic High School and received undergraduate and master’s degrees from East Stroudsburg State College.

He served the county’s aging office for six years and three months, dating back to the inception of the program.
