PSP Fern Ridge - crashes
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following accidents:
• Five people were injured in a crash at 1:13 p.m. June 30 at the intersection of Miller and Bartonsville Woods roads in Jackson Township.
Police said Adia M. Gilham, 20, Amy D. Gilham, 40, Arlo E. Gilham, 41, and a 16-year-old girl, all from Saylorsburg, and Andrew V. Mecca, 18, of Long Pond, had suspected minor injuries in the incident.
It happened when a 2017 Chrysler 300 operated by Carrie L. Reeder, 42, of Union Dale, failed to stop at a properly-posted stop sign, entered the intersection and struck the driver’s side of a 2021 Ford Explorer operated by Adia Gilham.
Police said Reeder was cited for stop signs and yield signs.
They said it is unknown whether she and two passengers were injured.
• Bruce J. Shaffer, 57, of Lehighton, was cited for following too closely after a “rear-end” collision at 10:22 p.m. Aug. 21 at the intersection of Route 209 and Shafer Drive in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said he was driving a 2013 Volkswagen Passat that struck the rear of a 2016 Nissan Altima operated by Anthony J. Trabosci, 20, of Easton.
They said a passenger in the Altima, Alyssa M. Kovacs, 22, of Effort, was transported to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Bartonsville, by personnel from the West End Ambulance Corps. Police said her injuries are unknown.
Police were assisted at the scene by the West End Fire Company and a local towing service.
• A 45-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police were dispatched to a possible motorcycle crash at 12:45 p.m. June 3 at the intersection of Route 715 and Anglemire Drive in Jackson Township.
Police said it was determined he drove the 2015 Harley Davidson off the road and it became stuck in a small embankment.
