Smokey Bear has been making his rounds as he celebrates his 80th birthday.
The bear, who reminds folks that “Only you can prevent wildfires,” visited the Mahanoy City Public Library recently.
Children sang “Happy Birthday” and enjoyed cupcakes after hearing a fire safety presentation from Jack Forte of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Bureau of Forestry.
Smokey Bear recently appeared at the Tamaqua Public Library.
