Jim Thorpe Area School District’s board of directors approved several personnel items on Wednesday night.

• Among the approvals was the retroactive hiring of Morgan Smyth and Robin McGeehan as 2024 extended school year substitute teachers at a rate of $40 per hour.

• The board also confirmed several new paraprofessional hires, including Jennifer Reynolds, who will be earning $19 per hour.

• Abigail Chinnici, Lisa Gutowski, Sara Giordano and Ashley Moeck were also approved as paraprofessionals, all at $14 per hour.

• Brian O’Donnell was hired as the high school emotional support teacher at a salary of $50,930, retroactive to Aug. 14.

• The district also hired Sherry Bukics as a high school 90-day long-term substitute art teacher ending after the first semester, at a prorated salary of $50,930.
